Information for registered students

Admission Requirement:
Students must be 16 years of age to receive WorkSafe BC certification for Workplace First Aid courses.
Basic first aid courses are available for students 14 yrs of age through adult.
Babysitting courses are offered for ages 10 and up.
OFA Level 2 & 3 Courses:
Please note: students in OFA Level 2 & Level 3 courses, must provide official identification and a certificate of physical fitness from a physician prior to the course start date.
It is also strongly recommended that students pick up and review their materials at least 2 weeks prior to beginning the course.
These courses start at 8 am.
Arriving at the Vital training site.
All courses start at 8.30 am except for Baby sitting which start at 9 am.
Please be aware that the whole area from the Davis Bay Hall is a School zone.
Please honour the 30km per hr. speed limit at all times.
Clothing:
Please wear comfortable layered clothing that allows for easy movement.
Knee pads are provided in class but if taking a course of more than 2-day duration, you may wish to wear elbow protection.
What Do I Need to Bring?
Lunch, snacks and drinks to last through the day. Coffee, tea and water will be provided on site.
Kirkland has a full kitchen including a stove & microwave, plates & cups etc.
A 30 min lunch break, plus short breaks throughout the day between course units,will be planned by the instructor.
For the optimum learning environment:
Please make appropriate arrangements for your children and pets during course times, their presence is distracting to other students.
We do not have the staff or facilities to care for them on site.
We would appreciate students having cell phones turned off during class time.
Transferring to a different course or changing the date:
An administration fee of $20.00 will be retained by Vital Training for a student requesting to transfer to another course,
with less than 5 business day's notice prior to the course start date.
If students are asked to leave the course due to illness, we will make every attempt to accommodate them in the next available
course with no extra charge.
Refunds:
Fees will not be refunded if the cancellation of a class by the student occurs less than 5 business days prior to the start date of the class.
50% of fees will be returned if cancellation is received 6 days prior to start date of the course.
Books must be returned in good condition with original receipts, in order to receive a refund.
Refund After Course Starts - OFA Level 2 or 3 only:
No refund is available once an OFA level 2 or OFA level 3 course has started.
Refunds if students are requested to leave the course.
If a student is requested to leave due to illness, Vital Training will schedule that student into the next available course with no extra charges.
No refund will be available to students who are requested to leave the course due to misconduct as defined in the posted Work Safe BC policies.
Course Cancellation by Vital Training:
A full refund will be issued and transfer fees will be waived if Vital Training cancels the course.
Every attempt will be made to re-schedule a student in the same or equivalent course within the month.
