Information for registered students

12% HST is only required for Family and Teen Courses

Admission Requirement:

Students must be 16 years of age to receive certifiation in WorkSafe BC Occupational First Aid (OFA)  courses.
Basic first aid courses ( Red Cross & SJA curriculum) are available for students  14 yrs of age and up.
Babysitting courses are offered for ages 10 and up.
All students in OFA courses must present official identification at the sart of the course.
 
Transport Endorsement (TE)  Course
 
A current OFA level 1 or equivalent certificate is required as pre-requisite for  this course.
Both certificates will expire on the date the L 1 certificate expires.
Students must pesent  their current OFA level 1 certification to the instructor before the TE certificate can be issued.
 
OFA Level 1, 2 & 3 Courses:
 
All OFA students must present  official identification at the start of the course.
Level 2 & 3 students must have completed and  signed  off on a statement of physical fitness  prior to start of class.
It is strongly recommended that students pick up and study  materials at least 1 week prior to  the start of the course.
All required forms are included in the course binder.
 
Arriving at the Vital training site.
Courses start at 8:30 am. Please arrive  at least 10 mins prior to start ime. 
 
Clothing: 
Please wear comfortable layered clothing  that allows for easy movement.
Matts & knee pads are provided in class.
 
What Do I Need to Bring?
Personal identification
Lunch, snacks and  drinks to last through the day. 
The instructor will arrange for short breaks throughout the day plus a  30 min. lunch break.
Lockers are available for student use.
For classes of 1 or 2 week duration students may wish to bring a padlock to secure belongings in a locker.
 
For the optimum learning environment:
We will expect students having cell phones turned off during class time.
 
Transferring to a different course or changing the date:
An administration fee of $20.00 will be retained by Vital Training for a student requesting to transfer to another course,
with less than  5 business day's notice prior to the course start date.
If students are asked to leave the course due to illness, we will make every attempt to accommodate them in the next available
course at no extra charge.
 
Refunds: 
Fees will not be refunded if  the cancellation of a class by the student occurs less than 5 business days prior to  the start date of the class.
50% of fees will be returned if cancellation is received  6 days prior to start date of the course.
Books  must be returned in good condition with original receipts, in order to receive a refund. 
 
Refund After Course Starts  - OFA Level 2 or 3 only:
No refund is available once an OFA level 2 or  OFA level 3 course has started.
 
Refunds if students are requested to leave the course.
If a student is requested to leave due to illness, Vital Training will schedule that student  into the next available course with no extra charges.
No refund will be available to students who are requested to leave the course due to misconduct as defined in the posted Work Safe BC policies.
 
Course Cancellation by Vital Training: 
A full refund will be issued and transfer fees will be waived if Vital Training cancels the course.
Every attempt will be made to re-schedule a student in the same or equivalent course within 30 days.
